We're trying something different this time. 3 large squads, each with 1 toxigun, and the experienced hybrids distributed evenly across them.

The squads split up, each going down one of the hallways at the entrance. Squad 2 runs into a group of 4 skeletoids before they had really disentangled from the rest of the mob. Matt, out in front, fails to control the first skeletoid, and opts to throw a stun grenade to buy a few seconds.
It isn't long before squad 1 is charged by a group of poppers and a spitter, and squad 3 is attacked by a spitter and some anthropods. The skeletoids are overpowered by the better prepared and much better shielded squad 2, the poppers are shot down, though one only just in time, and Batten finishes off the last couple anthropods with his toxigun, hoping for free shields.
Squad 1 heads to the lower level, squad 2 holds position, and squad 3 moves forward. Checking the Anthropods, it appears that we've scored another pair of shields, cannons, cloaking devices, and some other random junk from them.
Squad 3 pops a couple of eggs and runs into a multiworm. The hyperworms actually wind up chewing through one of Matthew's shields (should have pulled his sword out).
Matthew finally gets some kills thanks to his toxigun and is promoted to squaddie.
